The Al Wusta National Reserve is the home of the Arabian Oryx.
This National Park is located at the borders of the Rub Al Khali, the Empty Quarter Desert that stretches from Saudi Arabia into Yemen and Oman.
In the Al Wusta NR native animals are bred in a zoo-like fenced area and the animals can roam freely in the Reserve.
We had the opportunity to visit the park in March 2024 and were guided by one of the wardens of the park, Khalid. He showed us the breeding area and took us around the Reserve to observe the wild animals living there.
