From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 we will participate in the Overlanders meeting in Ranst.
This meeting is organized by Overlanders.be vzw, a Flemish organization that focuses on providing information to overlanders and organizes an annual Overlanders meeting.
During the weekend we will give a presentation about “Making travel our life”.
It is an interesting weekend where we gain a lot of travel inspiration and get to know new fellow travelers. The excellent weather helps to complete the experience.
Friday September 3
This year we are present on Friday afternoon and find a place between the small overland vehicles at the end of the concrete parking area.

On Friday there are already about a hundred vehicles with 2 or more passengers each, so it is a very pleasant gathering. Many people already know each other and therefore have a lot to catch up on about recent trips and other experiences. For us, this afternoon and evening is mainly acquainted with our neighbors and we cast some curious looks at and in some vehicles.
Saturday September 4
On Saturday we are on the program with our lecture “Making travel our life“, or as it is on the program: Permanent travel.
In this blog I give a summary of our lecture.
After the lecture we receive several enthusiastic people at our Milady Landy. In general, people are surprised that we want to travel around the world in this “small” car, because a large part of the visitors to the event has a large overland truck.

We also keep our eyes on the fellow overlanders and give interested participants the necessary further explanation about our car and our travel plans. We can also share our travel experiences.
Unfortunately, due to all the interest, we have to miss most of the afternoon lectures, luckily we can still participate in the workshop about shipping Belgaco-shipping. We recognize a lot of what Steven says and enrich our knowledge with the questions and answers from and to the audience.
We are also following the self-recovery workshop with great interest. We will certainly take Gerrit’s useful tips to heart.

In the evening we eat fries in the camper with Patty and Erik, we exchange travel stories and hear about their experiences with the construction of their truck-camper, a great project.
Sunday September 5
Today the weather is sunny again, an excellent day for the event.
We attend the lecture about Iceland and get inspiration from the beautiful images that are shown.
We leave full of new inspiration and with a large number of new contacts, it was certainly a very successful weekend for us.
