After we said goodbye to Oledaniel (see Travelling Maasai-land) we leave for the Serengeti.

This is a pictorial representation of our first day.

Unfortunately, on that first day an unexpected end, Milady almost literally went down on her knees in the middle of the Serengeti.
Fortunately, here too, as always, help is available and after a few hours and some custom-made U-bolts later – the bolts of the left-rear leaf spring were broken – we can continue just before dark. John Lyimo, our guide whom we picked up in the afternoon at the information point in Seronera takes me to a tree where I can take a picture of this leopard.
The second day we leave early, we agreed to pick up John at 6AM.
Thanks to the skills of John we have some great encounters with the typical animals of the Serengeti.

In the afternoon we have lunch with John

and then we will continue towards Mwanza ourselves, a scenic drive through the western Serengeti.
In the evening we find a beautiful campsite on Lake Victoria, the Nyatwale Lodge & Campsite.

We are the only campers and the facilities are pretty basic, water comes from the lake and I fill our tank with this water.

The sunset is unforgettable.
