A beautiful day, the sun shines and we have plenty of energy again thanks to our rest day yesterday. Today’s stage goes almost entirely through the Vechtdal, starting at Hardenberg.

Here and there the Vecht is restored to its former glory with even a real whitewater course at Hardenberg.

I found this underpass quite amusing.

Fortunately, I didn’t hit my head.
The change of weather type gives beautiful cloudy skies,

or other beautiful things to amaze us.

For a change we also walk through beautiful forests of the Vechtdal.

These forests were planted in the 19th and early 20th century to limit the drifting sand. The Sahara is one such remaining sand plain.

We continue along the Vecht

and the beautifully hilly terrain of Landgoed Junne.

When we arrive in Ommen the clock strikes half past four, a good time to arrive at our guest address.
