Today we cross the Rhine valley from Pannerden / Millingen to the moraines at Groesbeek. The first part is flat with old channels of the Rhine, after the German town of Zyfflich we walk up the lateral moraine of the Duivelsberg and through this wooded area to Groesbeek. The weather is nice again, sunny with a fresh breeze.
We leave Pannerden on time, the ferry to Millingen leaves every hour and we want to catch the 9 o’clock ferry.

The ferry is right on time.

From Millingen the Pieterpad runs tightly along the German border, left Germany, right the Netherlands.

The cows on the other side are therefore German.

I think this board is interesting, in Dutch.

A few kilometers later, the landscape is not very varied except for a flowering orchard,

we enter Germany via a beautiful old bridge.

There is even a barrier on the border. The German town of Zyfflich is not very special, a nice market square and a stork in its nest. Furthermore, many new houses.

Before we know it we are already out of the town and cross the border again via a pedestrian bridge over the Wylermeer.

When we have crossed the Dutch provincial road, we walk steeply up the Duivelsberg.

A beautiful forest area where apparently gnomes also live.

The views are wide and the paths are deeply worn.

The last path towards Groesbeek seems infinitely long, our fatigue is going to break us up.

It was a beautiful day with many impressions again, so we are happy when we arrive at our accommodation and can rest. At Tonny and André we are warmly welcomed and we enjoy an excellent meal of 3 courses with a glass of white wine.
