Today it is so sunny that we first take off our coats and then our cardigans as well, we walk almost all day in our t-shirt and dress. The area slowly changes from the Achterhoek estates into the Gelderland river landscape.
We take the bus from Doetinchem to Zelhem to start our day stage. On the Markt we are welcomed by Smoks-Hanne, the witch of Zelhem.
The sun is shining on the fields that are already ready for spring.
The wetland area offers water birds ample opportunity to make nests.
We enjoy the sun on our arms and legs.
And so walk over the Slangenburg estate.
The stream we pass by flows into the Oude IJssel.
After that, the environment changes more to pasture.
And so we arrive in Braamt.
Where we have reserved a hiker’s cabin at the campsite.

Love the woodland path walks. Especially the path between the trees.
The house in the moat, beside canal looked pretty.
The nesting birds and swan in the reeds really brings home the fact that summer is on the way.
