A tough day today, 24km according to the booklet / Pieterpad website, according to my GPS it was 25,6km today. Quite tough, but the weather cooperated, no precipitation and now and then a watery sun. When we arrive in Sleen we have sore muscles and joints and we can rest tired but satisfied in the b & b.
We start in Schoonloo with an extensive breakfast and leave in good spirits. The Trekkerskei in Schoonloo, one of the many boulders in Drenthe, also attracts our attention.

Today the path mostly runs through the Drenthe forests and over the flint paths (made of flint stones, erratic boulders that were excavated during the exploitation of the rough fields and sandy plains).

We walk for a while with Ans from Assen, she also walks the entire path to the Sint Pietersberg. We are talking about our lives and our plans and of course our children. Ans turns out, just like me, Gert Jan, to be Gemini, born in June.

In addition to the forests, the untouched patches of high moor naturally draw our attention.

Along the way we see several direction indicators showing that we will pass our first 100km today.

The paths are diverse in nature and composition.

We stop for a moment at some objects along the way.

We walk on through the beautiful nature,

until we finally, after some long straight polder roads,

see the church of Sleen on the horizon,

the end of a long day.
